No Small Thing

It is no small thing when we gather together as believers to worship our great God on a Sunday morning.

Church can become so routine and sadly sometimes we focus more about what is happening afterwards, that we forget the wonder that our gathering is even possible.

It is no small thing that we have a God who is so close and near, He sent HIs Son to die for our sins and to rise again, providing the final proof He is the one true God.

Without knowing Jesus, the presence of God is a terrifying place but as believers, it is a place of unending mercy, forgiveness and love.

It is no small thing when various people all with different backgrounds and current circumstances are knitted together in love.

Even If the only thing we have in common is our shared faith in Jesus, it is more than enough to produce a deep community who spur each other on in life and godliness.

It is no small thing when God raises up faithful preachers who proclaim the excellencies of Christ week after week.

It is through hearing the Word of God, we come to faith and our minds are renewed by the truth; which leads to continually transforming to be more like Christ.

It is no small thing when we have the joy of singing to and praising the Lord together. While we struggle here to love God as we should, one day in heaven we will worship Him perfectly in spirit and in truth.

Nothing will compare with the splendor of worshiping our Savior together with a great multitude that no one can count, from every nation, tribe, people and language.

It is no small thing having the privilege of gathering together as a church family each week. Let us not take this great gift for granted.

Rather than treating church as another thing to check off our to-do list, may we be eager to gather to worship God with a prepared and pure heart for the glory of the Lord.
