When life is painful and discouraging, the Lord already knows what we need to remain steadfast in the midst of trials.

The deeper my need is, the deeper His gracious provision will be.

The more I understand how dependent I am on Jesus and His grace, the more I will see how He will prove faithful in all circumstances.

Because God is able to make all grace to abound, I will be given the strength to trust in the Lord and to seek to do good in every season of life.

I’ve started to keep a list of all the small and big ways God reminds me of His love and care for me during the hard times in life. God is always providing for His people but sometimes we need to intentionally remember all His provisions. I go back often to read my list and I’m encouraged all over again by the sufficiency of His grace and kindness. That reminder gives me strength and hope to continue on in the present. I treasure the way I can look back and see ways God has been at work all along and it brings such joy to my heart as I remember God’s faithfulness.

I’ll end with one of my favorite quotes:  “God anticipates the needs of His people.”

Isn’t it so comforting to know that long before a need occurs in our life, God has known about it all along and His provision is already at work?!
