We all seek joy,
In fact it could be argued that we all spend our lives pursuing joy.
The problem is we usually look for it in all the wrong things.
We foolishly think that doing things on our own terms will bring joy,
While forgetting how fleeting the pleasures of sin are.
We believe that if our life finally goes the way we want it to,
We would find lasting joy.
Joy doesn’t come from circumstances though.
Joy comes from knowing Jesus,
And we grow to know Jesus through hearing His word and obeying it.
Jesus came into the world so that we might have life in all its fullness.
He wants to give us deep-seeded joy,
And the Lord loves to restore to us the joy of salvation.
Even in the troubles of this world, we can find joy still in our Savior.
We have the assurance that God doesn’t waste one tear we cry.
Those who love Jesus can hold onto this very great promise:
God is able to use everything in our lives for our ultimate good and His glory.
All the commands and promises of God have been spoken so that we can experience joy,
And joy to the full.
The joy of the Lord is our strength as He continues to transform our heart.
In all the weariness of life,
God is growing in us steadfastness that will lead us to deeper completeness.
Until one day when we see Jesus face-to-face,
The author and finisher of our salvation and joy forevermore.
Inexpressible joy is only and always possible through faith in Jesus.
“You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” -Psalm 16:11
