The Reason for our Joy

My heart is filled with joy

And I long to praise God with all my heart.

For He has used many different things to humble me

And to help me understand how great of a salvation He offers

To those who call on the name of the Lord to be saved.

God truly has blessed His children with every spiritual blessing

For He has done many wondrous things in our lives.

The Lord is perfectly holy and kind in all His acts

He does not treat us as our sins deserve

His mercies never come to an end

God is strong in our weakness.

The proud have no need of Jesus

But the humble know how much they need Him every hour

God opposes the proud but He lavishes His grace on the humble.

When we come to the Lord broken, guilty and hungry,

We will come to know Christ’s sufficiency in our poverty.

The rich in spirit are sent away empty

But those who are poor in spirit will know the riches of His great compassion and grace.

He redeems our life from the darkness of our sin and of this world

And brings satisfaction to our heart as we are strengthened once again.

Every promise of God will prove true

His Word will never fade away.

Great is the Lord’s faithfulness to those who fear Him.

He sits enthroned in heaven

And he will continue to sovereignly rule in truth and grace until the day He returns to this earth.

When Jesus came as a baby in a manger everything was changed

And the day Jesus returns as the conquering King all things will be made new.

Those who have been saved by grace through faith in Jesus alone will experience the greatest of joy in the presence of the Lord forever.

This Christmas don’t look to the gifts for joy

But look to the Giver of all the good gifts we enjoy for true and lasting joy.

In all the different emotions the Christmas season can bring

Look to Jesus.

He is the reason we know joy even in the midst of tears

He will always be the light in the darkness

He will alway be the hope in our mourning.

We may not always feel joyful

But there will always be joyful things to think upon.

Oh the wonders of the joy and love Jesus brings to those who trust in Him.

(Based from Luke 1:46-55 and Psalm 103)
